This season, we have been doing our best to shed light on the strong link between poverty as it relates to education. There are several factors that can contribute to a child living in poverty, and several more factors that can determine how effective their educational experience is in the city. Honor Lives Lost at the Baltimore Overdose Awareness Day Remembrance Vigil

“Events are planned throughout the day to remember those who have lost their lives to overdose and to ensure that those at risk have the opportunity for a second chance.”

Back in February, we addressed drug use in Baltimore in a blog about President Obama’s decision to propose $1 billion in funds to combat the opioid and heroin epidemic. You can learn more about that here. Today, August 31, is International Overdose Awareness Day, and we want to shed some light on important events throughout the city as we honor those lives lost to overdose. At My Brother’s Keeper, we are proud to provide social services to those in need, including addiction treatment referrals. (more…)
