Dave Carney has been a pre-eminent attorney and civic leader in Maryland for almost 40 years. A Baltimore native whp graduated from Loyola High School and Loyola College. Carney was the first recipient of the Mohlar Trophy, awarded to the Outstanding Scholar-Athlete ar Loyola.
Carney is the founding partner of Reese and Carney, LLP, and has served in numerous leadership roles at the state, local, and community levels. A past president of the Howard County Bar Association, he was also a founding board member and the chair of the Howard County Economic Development Authority. He sits on the Equal Business Opportunity Commission.
Carney's influence in the community extends so much further and deeper than his community work. His advice is continually sought by business leaders, as well as elected and appointed officials, who seek sound outcomes for difficult and complex issues. Though his appetite for work is legendary, so is his appetite for service. Over the years, myriad charitable and religious organizations have benefited from his counsel and generosity.
Dave Carney has made a difference to people from all walks of life. The J.P. Blase Cooke Center at My Brother's Keeper would simply not have become a reality without him. For that, the people of Irvington are more grateful.
