Did Salt Lake City Really Solve Their Issue With Homelessness?

Homelessness

While Salt Lake City may not have actually given all of their homeless population homes, what they’ve done certainly says a lot about homelessness.

In 2015, a segment on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” touted Salt Lake City, Utah’s approach to their population suffering from homelessness as a miracle cure. The segment, at the hands of reporter Hasan Minhaj, painted a beautiful and simple picture: all Salt Lake City had done to rid themselves of homelessness was to give the homeless homes. Crisis Intervention in Baltimore

If you need crisis intervention in Baltimore, My Brother’s Keeper is here to help.

There are those that are afraid of the mentally ill, and society has cast an unfair blanket image of violence and instability on mental illness as a whole. This, when compounded with the already-damaging stigma against the homeless as being dangerous or more likely to commit to criminal actions, can result in the mentally ill homeless population being untreated. As a result, crisis intervention in Baltimore is incredibly important for those dealing with their mental health, and we at Irvington My Brother’s Keeper want to highlight some unfortunate mental health realities.
